How we startedFounded by Nottingham playwright Hugh Dichmont, Script East Midlands was born both out of passion and frustration.
Hugh has always held a deep belief in the talent resident here in his home county, but wanted more community, craft-building and opportunities to share work. Beginning as a monthly Writers Group at Broadway Cinema, providing a much-needed space to share early drafts of scripts, Script East Midlands has since grown into much more, driven by a will to elevate and amplify the work of scriptwriting in Nottingham, Leicester, and beyond.
