WHAT do we do AT WRITE CLUB?Plan, reflect, write. Write Club provides a supportive space to focus and a creative community to work alongside, building gentle accountability & structure.
7-7.30: Check-in. All writers share their personal creative aims for the session (and beyond), and any blocks they have hit recently.
7.30-8: Warm-up. A creative writing exercise, led by Hugh Dichmont, focused on a specific scriptwriting skill, priming us for a positive month ahead.
8-9: Writing sprint. A quiet hour for writers to write, focused on their personal projects.
9-9.30: Sharing. The opportunity to share any writing, get feedback, and reaffirm a positive creative mindset for the month ahead.

Write Club FAQ
-
All writers benefit from being in a community that understand them, who can provide that peer support and accountability. So Write Club is for everyone, from professionals, to those just starting their journey. It is a space to find motivation and momentum for our own personal creative goals. The Write Club community is there to help you unlock what is currently blocked, and write to your best.
-
No! Writers can be based anywhere to join Write Club.
-
No. Each session will have a different creative writing warm-up. Coming regularly will also help with maintaining accountability for your creative aims, and regular community support for your projects as they evolve. Every month we will check back in with regulars to see how they have hit their goals, or what might have got in the way in the past weeks.
-
At the end of each session will be time to share ideas, pitches and fragments for immediate, simple community advice. If you write scripts, and want focused, detailed feedback on a specific project, then explore our Script Swaps and Writers Group
-
You need access to the internet, a zoom account, a webcam, a quiet space, and something to write with; your computer or pen and paper. You don't need fancy scriptwriting software- any word processor that suits you is fine. There are free scriptwriting apps out there, however, which can help.
-
If you write stories, you are welcome, whatever form it takes. As an organisation, ScriptEM is focused mainly on scriptwriters, but we believe all writers have something to gain from sharing a space together.
-
Yes! There is no pressure to share your goals or writing to anyone if you don't wish to. However, this is a space to find structure and motivation. If you would prefer some one-to-one time during the session for support, that can be arranged.
